Rise Above the Noise
Over the last several years I have been going through a “wilderness” season.
It’s been rough, strange, hard, tiring, confusing, and I have come so close to throwing in the towel many, many times. These have been some of the hardest years I’ve ever been through...but in the end, I think it will be worth the battle.
I started this blog to share some of the things I have been experiencing, some of the things I’ve seen.
I feel like there are a lot of people that are in a similar situation that I am in. There have been many going through the fire, confused, hopeless and ready to give up. I still fight these feelings every day. However, there has to be a reason we have been facing so much turmoil. I believe that the people with the biggest callings on their lives face some of the most intense warfare. Sometimes I wonder why I seem to have a “target” on my back. You might feel the same. Actually, I KNOW that there are many asking this same question.
Don’t give up! I know it’s been hard. Trust me, I am right there with you. Today I am fighting another battle of my own. However, during some of the most intense warfare, that’s when I seem to hear God the most. I just have to choose where I’m “tuning in”. There is a lot of noise and clatter around me, screaming in my face daily.
One phrase I keep hearing is “rise above the noise”.
Right now that is my goal.
This scripture came to me in a dream recently:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”
Isaiah 55:8-12 NIV
All is not lost. I’m saying this to myself. I feel like there is a lot going on behind the scenes. It seems like the “noise” is getting louder and louder because there is something we are being distracted from seeing. For now, I’m going to continue to try and “rise above the noise” and see what is on the other side of this mountain.
